Little Chef Donut Decorating & Origami Experience

Calling all young artists and origami enthusiasts from age 4 and up! Get ready for a mind-bogglingly fun experience that will tickle your taste buds and ignite your imagination. Our 2D Kid Donut Decorating and Origami Class is here to whisk you away into a world where donuts and origami collide!

Fun, educational and cultural experience

Young chefs will learn all the steps needed to make delicious mochi donuts with all sorts of colorful toppings and hands-on guidance from the 2d donut decorator.

Art

Fold, crease, and transform ordinary paper into extraordinary works of art. Our expert origami instructors will guide you through the mesmerizing process of creating three different mind-bending origami designs. From adorable animals to fascinating geometric shapes, you'll learn the secrets behind this ancient Japanese art form while cultivating your own creative superpowers.

donut decorating - led by chef yu

Chef Yu, the master of 2d mochi donut making is here to teach your kid (& you) how to make delectable treats that'll have your friends and family drooling. With hands-on instruction from our expert decorator everyone will learn how to create two scrumptious looking mochi donuts with yummy colorful toppings.

At the end of this fun session every chef receives an amazing certificate showing off their fantastic culinary skills

I designed this class with my love and hope that my son will learn and get first-hand experience of this fun and cultural activity. Now I'm so excited to show our junior chefs how much fun the art of donut-making can be!

origami art - led by special guest instructor ty Yamamoto of Japanese culture center

Ty Yamamoto is a Chicago-based filmmaker, photographer and Japanese teacher with a passion for the art of folding paper. Ever since childhood, Ty has loved folding all sorts of intricate paper creations. Over the past year, Ty has taught virtual origami lessons to people of all ages, bringing the traditional Japanese art

form to households all over the world.

common q&a

Q: Is there room available for parents?

A: Parents are welcomed  to purchase a ticket and join the kids to practice the craft of mochi donuts. If capacity allows, parents can sit with the Jr. chefs. If we have a full class, a portion of a restaurant will turn into a "Waiting area" for the parents.

Q: What is the allergens:

A: *Event is nut-free. Common Allergens for the event: Dairy, gluten, and eggs.

Q: Is there Parking around the restaurant?

A: Street parking is available on Halsted. Scroll to the bottom of the page for google map directions.

Hungry before class?

Kid Meals and beverages will be available for pre-ordering. We encourage young chefs to eat before the experience.
